Summer School 2025

This week we started Summer School, it was a bit of a last minute addition as I wasn’t sure we would have time with all the prep for the Demonstration at the end of the month. But it has been going amazingly. We have had loads of kids coming along, all the usual awesome students and also some cousins visiting the area on holiday and a new student who is giving Aikido a go for the first time.

We have been having a lot of fun with loads of Aikido skills focussing on Zenpo Kaiten Ukemi on Day 1 and Tanto on Day 2. All the kids have been really doing their best with everyone trying to win the games and not shying away from the Push-ups when the lose. We have played some difficult games so far with Aikido Evolution for the first time which went really well and a club favourite making a return - Tanto Rugby!

I am hoping we can attract some more kids soon especially for next year. My goal is to have at least 10 regular students in the club in 2026. The more kids we have, the more fun and exciting games we can play.
