Online Class December 2025
Thanks to making friends randomly wth my friend’s BJJ teacher when at a play centre at the gymnasium where we train in Aikido, I started taking part in his classes in Otofuke. After one session I realised it would be good to try and see if he would let me use his dojo to use for our online classes as he had a good sound system and a huge projector. Luckily he was kind enough to say yes and we organised to let us get in one Sunday.
It turned out just perfect, unfortunately it was a bit too small for our usual big group so I had to decide to make it Adults only. we can probably do a maximum of 8 people, but despite the smaller size it was definitely worth it.
It was far easier to hear and see what Tad sensei was asking us to do and he was even able to speak directly to the students on my end and correct them. This 1 on 1 connection has really built up the relationship between Tad Sensei and my students as they now feel they are getting to know him. This has been great to build up the excitement for the Nottingham group to come to Japan in 2026.
Unfortunately we had some students absent due to slipping on ice injuries and winter sickness, but the small number meant we could better understand how the set up will work and work with the Nottingham group. It was amazing to see how many people woke up early in the morning to come and train on their end.
One idea my friend had was to make some self introductory videos from students, that way people can start to really get to know one another even before we meet face to face!
