Mori Sensei Training - Sapporo

On July 11th and 12th I went to Sapporo by bus and took part in another training by Mori Sensei. I was nervous as I had travelled alone and even though I had met Mori Sensei before I was not quite familiar with him yet, so I wanted to be on my best behaviour.

The training went really well, but it was incredibly hot in the dojo. Mori sensei covered kicks this time so it was a brilliant opportunity to look at how they can be integrated into Aikido training. His lessons are always really useful especially as we do Self Defence as part of our curriculum. We learned a variety of kicks and a few techniques to counter those attacks. the traning was really had and everyone was really exhausted.

I met some people that had been at the previous training last year but I also met some people I had met when I travelled to Tokyo to go to Joe Sensei’s seminar. They were from Mugen Juku Aikido and I mentioned I was travelling to Tokyo for work later that month and wanted to join them from training. It turns out their regular training was cancelled as they were doing a special training at Kamakura followed by a beach party - they said I was probably welcome to join them - so how could I say no to both Aikido and a beach party!!
